Part BOM Relationships

A Part BOM relationship is a relationship between a Parent Part and its Child Part defined in the BOM relationships accordion tab of the Parent Part.

To view a Part BOM relationship:

1. Open the Parent Part item.
2. Go to the BOM tab.
3. In the BOM grid, right-click a Child à BOM -> Open. The view of the Part BOM relationship between the Parent and the Child appears.

• Quantity – The number of Parts used in the assembly.
• Part Number– The part number.

• Reference Designator – Used primarily in electronic assemblies to list labels of each Instance.

  The relationships accordion of the Part BOM contains three tabs:

• Instances – Refer to section Instances for details.
• Substitutes – Refer to section Substitutes for details.
• Effectivity – Refer to section Effectivity Management for details.
