Editing a BOM

You can update an existing BOM to add, replace, or remove Children from the BOM.

To add new Children to an existing BOM, refer to section Setting up a BOM.

To replace Children in a BOM:

1. Open the Parent Part.
2. On the Parent toolbar, click Edit.
3. Go to the BOM accordion tab.
4. Right-click the Child to be replaced and then click Replace. The Search dialog appears.
5. Search for and select a replacement Part. The Child in the BOM is replaced with the Part selected. The BOM relationship data, such as Quantity and Reference Designator, is retained.
6. Click Save or Done. The Children are replaced.

To remove Children from a BOM:

1. Open the Parent Part.
2. Click Edit on the Parent toolbar.
3. Go to the BOM accordion tab.
4. Click on the Child or Children to be deleted and then click Delete Part BOM.
5. Click Save or Done. The selected Children are removed from the BOM.
