Client Configuration

Specific settings for Google Chrome are recommended for use with Aras Innovator and are outlined in this document. These settings are based on the current documentation provided by Google and may be subject to change at any time by Google. Aras is not responsible for Google Chrome, so any further questions on its use or issues arising from the usage of Google Chrome should be directed to Google.

This release of Aras Innovator supports the use of Chrome 122 or higher.

Administrative rights may be needed to perform the instructions outlined below. These settings are required and recommended to enhance the user workflow.

Disable Pop-Up Blocker

The following steps outline the process to disable the Google Chrome Pop-Up Blocker:

  1. Open Google Chrome and navigate to Settings.
  2. Select Privacy and Security, Site Settings, and Pop-ups and redirects.
  3. Under Default behavior, select Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects.
  4. Restart Google Chrome before attempting to load the login screen.

Enable Browser Caching

The following steps outline the process to enable browser caching in Google Chrome:

  1. Enter chrome://settings/content/siteData in the address bar.
  2. Select Allow sites to save data on your device or Allow sites to save data on your device to enable/disable.
Note
This will affect both Web Storage and Cookies. Google Chrome doesn’t currently provide a way to enable or disable Web Storage separately.

Aras PDF Viewer is a feature included in Aras Innovator to display PDF documents as part of the Visual Collaboration feature. The technology used to make the feature display PDFs is browser specific. Users may experience differences in behavior when loading PDF files in Chrome vs Firefox. While all browsers provide the same functionality, users’ experience will be slightly different.
