Client Configuration

Specific settings for Microsoft Edge are recommended for use with Aras Innovator and are outlined in this document. These settings are based on the current documentation provided by Microsoft and may be subject to change at any time by Microsoft. Aras is not responsible for Microsoft Edge, so any further questions on its use or issues arising from the usage of Microsoft Edge should be directed to Microsoft.

This release of Aras Innovator requires the Edge browser installed on one of the following Windows versions:

• 10
• 11

Administrative rights may be needed to perform the instructions outlined below. These settings are required and recommended to enhance the user workflow.

The following steps outline the process to disable the Microsoft Edge Pop-Up Blocker:

1. Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to Settings.
2. Click Cookies and Site Permissions.
3. Select Pop-ups and redirects and toggle to Off.
4. Restart Microsoft Edge before attempting to load the login screen of Aras Innovator.

The following steps outline the process to enable browser caching in Microsoft Edge:

1. Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to Configuration, System, Optimization, Services.
2. Click Edge Cache Restart.
3. In the HTTPS Caching section, select Enable caching of HTTPS content.
4. Restart Microsoft Edge before attempting to load the login screen of Aras Innovator.

Aras PDF Viewer is a feature included in Aras Innovator to display PDF documents as part of the Visual Collaboration feature. The technology used to make the feature display PDFs is browser specific. Users may experience differences in behavior when loading PDF files in Edge vs Chrome or Firefox. While all browsers provide the same functionality, users’ experience will be slightly different.
