Installing Aras Innovator

The first step in installing Aras Workspace Productivity Connector 33 is to set up the Aras Innovator instance. This section describes the three major steps for setting up your Aras Innovator instance with Aras Workspace Productivity Connector 33.

You can find the Aras Innovator installation guide in the Documentation folder of the CD image.

At release, Aras Workspace Productivity Connector 33 supports Aras Innovator 33. (If you’re using an earlier version, please upgrade before installing the connector.)

• The Workspace Productivity Connector requires HTTPS, so your Aras Innovator instance must be configured to use HTTPS.
• If you need help upgrading, contact Aras Support at the Aras Subscriber Portal before installing the connector.

Follow this procedure to check if the Aras Innovator Code Tree and database meet the minimum requirements to apply the Aras Workspace Productivity Connector Solution AML:

1. Log into Aras Innovator as an administrator.
2. Click the User icon in the top-right corner and select About.
3. Confirm that the dialog shows Release33.
4. Close the dialog.
5. From the TOC, expand Administration and select Variables.
6. Confirm that the following variables are listed:

Aras Workspace Productivity Connector 33 requires a valid Feature License to run. To check if one is installed:

1. Log into Aras Innovator as an administrator.
2. In the TOC, expand Administration and select Feature Licenses.
3. Look for the Aras.WorkspaceProductivityConnector license. If it’s listed, check the expiration date to ensure it’s still active.

To request a Feature License activation key, customers with an active Aras subscription can send an email to licenses@aras.com or contact their account representative using the subject and body:

You’ll receive a reply with the activation key.

Once you have the activation key, you can install the feature license:

• Log into Aras Innovator as an administrator.
• Click the User icon in the top-right corner and click Activate Feature.
• Paste the acquired activation key and click Activate. You will see a success message.
