Generating a Table of Contents

The Content Generator enables you to automatically generate a Table of Contents using the TOC-Section Document Element. The Content Generator for the TOC child Document Element iterates through a document and adds all the Chapter and Section document headings to the Table of Contents as shown here:

You can customize the number of headings displayed in the TOC by editing the TOC Item. For more information, refer to the Aras Technical Documentation – Administrator’s Guide.

Adding a Table of Contents

Use the following procedure to add sections to the Table of Contents:

  1. Right-click the Standard Doc folder in the Navigation pane. Select Insert>TOC-Section from the context menu.

  1. Select the Title Element and enter a title for the Table of Contents, as shown here:

  1. Right-click the Title Element and select Add>TOC from the context menu to add entries to the Table of Contents.
